Seeing alone is not believing

Often I used to notice my mom lighting up the agarbathi and performing prayers in the pooja room. Also I noticed my dad standing in front of those photo frames and murmuring some not-so-audible 'mantras' for minutes. Then I asked them - 'why you are doing so? What are you gonna benefit from this?' and their reply was - 'it gives us peace and relaxation'. Most of the Human race find 'peace and relaxation' in the spirituality and God. I'm not protesting it, but its just that I find it meaningless when viewed from my end.

What created the Universe?
To answer this question, let me bring in a small conversation between two friends X and Y.
X: What created the Universe?
Y: It's the big bang.
X: No, it's the God who created the Universe.
Y: I don't agree with you. It's the big bang.
X: Okay, so what created the big bang?
Y: I don't exactly know the answer for that.
X: It's the God who created the big bang.
Y: Wait, you just said that God created the Universe, but how come He got involved in the big bang thing?
X: That's because God created everything, right from the big bang to the Universe.
Y: Okay, if God created everything, then who created God?
X: ??
Y: It's none other than a Human who created the God. Remember, the name 'God' is termed by a fellow Human Being.

God is nothing but an illusion that our brain creates. The Human brain is a wonderful organ and I just love the way it works. It makes us see what we want to see. It creates illusions based on the information given to it. Therefore, God is a sort of information given by a subject called 'Religion' and what we see is just an illusion of what we know. Okay, then what is religion? As per Google, religion means 'details of belief as taught or discussed' which highly coincides with the thing I explained before - what we see is just an illusion of what we know. Religion is a subject that teaches its followers what to follow, and the spirituality and superstition are the outputs. Again, it depends on the people. If you want to follow a Religion, then its up to you and I'm no one to stop you from doing it.

Did you ever see someone who is mentally ill or someone who is in coma offering God their prayers? No, that doesn't really happens as Science gets into picture. It's all in our brain. Only when the brain is active it sends impulses to the body to do what it really knows. If it knows only the God, it tells us to pray. If it knows only the Religion, it turns us superstitious. So, here is the twist - Human Brain equals God. Hence Proved.

What if there is a place in the world that doesn't follow any Religion? If there is such place then I'll be the first  to head there. Only such a place creates a room for a Human to live the life of a Human. Do you find any temples or churches or mosques in Antarctica? Is there any spiritual voyage to Arctic Pole? No, just because there are no people living out there. When there are Humans, there is Religion. When there is Religion, there is God. The twist - God has no value if Humans does not exist and this clearly states that even God is dependent on Humans.

Okay, now the question may pop up in your head - 'what are you trying to convey?' To answer your question - nothing, i'm just trying to express my thoughts with this article. I'm just a simple Human Being living an ordinary life and I'm not here to protest against any Religion. As I said, it's all in your brain and always remember this - 'Seeing alone is not believing'.

    1. Frankly speaking I have no answers for the first two questions, but for the third one I could say is there is no value of God if Human doesn't exist because God is known only to Human kind because only we Humans discovered something called 'God'.

I agree that there is a supreme power, an energy, that controls the Universe but I don't accept that to be 'God' because "God" is just a name coined by a Human being. At the same time I believe in what I see rather than blindly trusting in what I don't see.

    2. I believe its not a harm to call that supreme power in the name of God. I don encourage the worse cases happening in the name of God. U got to read the shiva trilogy series, a new dimension of GOD

    3. again, that's up to you.. if you wanna call the power as 'God' that's okay, no offense.. it's just that I spoke from my point of view.

  4. Thanks for posting, Ashwin. I always enjoy reading about how people view the world. I am not an atheist, but I was not offended in any way by your post- and I liked that. As you said, you were only trying to express your thoughts.

  5. Even if I agree that God is not there and it is a concept created by humans, still the question remains - who created the Big Bang. Do you have an answer?

    1. I don't have an answer for that.. But I doubt whether the 'Big Bang' really happened or its just a spook story? Cos everything we learn or see were totally created by our fellow humans.. when everything is an illusion its hard to trace out the reality :)
